While our usual "Hump Day Holeshots" are rather short video segments, we couldn't turn away from this grainy, sepia-hued film footage from Jim Amos' "Bee On Video." This eight-minute snippet includes some "greatest hits" drag racing footage from the '61, '62, '63, and '64 US Nationals as well as plenty of history from the legendary York US 30 Drag Strip in York, Pennsylvania, including the 1965 and 1969 Super Stock Nationals. While we were initially looking for some old footage of altered wheelbase gassers, we stumbled across this film featuring the original Dodge Ramchargers, the Lawman, and plenty of "Grumpy" Bill Jenkins-tuned muscle!
Again, these were the days before Vintage classes. This stuff was all brand-new. We can only sit back and imagine being in the stands as these machines first took to the strip. If you liked this eight-minute "promo," make sure to go to Jim Amos' Bee On Video at
