The Chevrolet Camaro received the Best in Class award, in the Sporty Car category, from the recent AutoPacific 2010 Ideal Vehicle Awards. The awards are based on more than 42,000 surveys completed by owners of new cars and trucks in the United States in the first quarter of this year.

To gauge owners’ satisfaction with their new vehicles, the surveys ask a battery of questions about what owners would change relative to vehicle size, power, visibility, roominess, handling, technology, ride and safety features. The vehicles with the least change suggestions wins.
Two other Chevrolet products, the Suburban and the Equinox, received awards for the the Large Sport Utility and Premium Mid-Size Crossover SUV categories, respectively. Jim Campbell, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, commented, "... the Ideal Vehicle Awards are powerful testaments to the performance, design, and value Chevrolet strives to deliver in every one of our cars, crossovers, and trucks."
According to AutoPacific, Of the twenty-seven Ideal Vehicle Award (IVA) categories, American brands produced sixteen segment winners, European brands six and Japanese brands five. Surprisingly, no Korean brands scored segment wins.
The 2010 Camaro was also a winner in AutoPacific's 2010 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, in which new car buyers rate 48 attributes for importance in the purchase decision and satisfaction after purchase.
