It seems that the silver bullet for getting gobs of horsepower out of today's 5.7 and 6.1-liter HEMIs is pretty simple: put a blower on it! Livernois has been hard at work custom tuning Challengers (both R/T and SRT8 models) to get the kind of power coming out of equally-massaged Mustangs and Camaros. Using a Magnacharger Roots-style blower, Livernois has done four Challengers to date and are currently working on a manual transmission-car now. Unfortunately, Magnacharger hasn’t released the kits to the public yet.
Livernois recently finished installing a Magnacharger intercooled supercharger on a customer's '08 Challenger SRT8. Baseline dyno numbers came in at 389rwhp with 384rwtq. After installing the Magnacharger, a smaller diameter pulley, and a Boost-A-Pump, the car made an
impressive 533rwhp and 513rwtq. Even better, the install is very clean and drives like it'sstock until you stand on it. In the video, you will see a before and after dyno graphs and an overlay showing before and after.
