This is one of only 562 Shelby GT350s built in 1965. The car will be seen this month at the upcoming Mecum Auction in Des Moines, IA. This is a highly original first-year Shelby GT350, equipped with a 289 Hi-Po V8 (306hp) and aluminum case Borg Warner T-10 4-speed.

Like every first-year car, it bears the all distinctive GT350 trademarks, including Wimbledon White paint with Guardsman Blue stripes, scooped fiberglass hood, side exhaust, competition-tuned suspension and brakes, with an austere black cockpit equipped with auxiliary gauge pod and Cobra steering wheel.
As #476 in the production sequence, this late-production car also incorporates 15-inch Cragar/Shelby wheels. This particular Shelby also retains the original dash mounted tachometer, original KONI shock absorbers and original "Blue Dot" spare tire.
The Mecum Auctions Muscle Cars & More event runs July 16-17, 2010 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Gates open at 8:00am daily. The auction starts at 1:00pm on Friday and 10:00am on Saturday. General admission is $15 per person, per day. Children under 12 are free.
