The internet has been on fire since the Dodge unleashed its "Freedom" commercial to celebrate the USA vs England World Cup match. Who forget the image of this nation's Founding Father, General George Washington charging (heh, get it?
charging - Ed.) down those bloody red coats behind the wheel of a glossy black SRT8 Challenger? If you have, here's a
refresher.
Recently, Dodge released a follow-up video documenting the making of the original, and, in our opinion, it’s pretty friggin' cool. Detailing the scene setting, the framing, the costuming, makeup, and of course, the awesome footage captured of three blacked-out Challenger driving off-road across the field of battle is more than most muscle car lovers can handle. Additionally, you'll note that the art director went so far as to shoot "still" photographs with an antique camera. We've got to give it up to Dodge, while Mustang beleaguers us with "31 MPG!" commercials and Chevrolet apparently could care less about advertising the Camaro (letting Michael Bay do all the dirty work), Dodge steps right up the camera lens, smirks and says, "This is a Challenger. If you know what it is, you know what it does. Don't like it? Don't buy it." And that's pretty damn cool...
Titled, "This is the car you buy because you can't buy a bald eagle."
