O’FALLON, MO (June 24, 2010) - The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has announced a scheduling change for its Saturday event schedule that will take effect at the ADRL Hardee’s Independence Drags IV at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, KS on July 2-3. Instead of the fourth and final qualifying round starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, it will now be pushed back to an 11 a.m. start with final eliminations now set to begin at 3 p.m.The move will allow fans to have the opportunity to watch the cars run at night during the championship rounds and also allow the cars to run in cooler air during the summer months to create an even better racing environment. The scheduling change to a later starting time on Saturday was made to improve the experience for the fans as well as the ADRL competitors.“We are always reviewing our operations to make them run smoother for our competitors and to create a more entertaining experience for our fans, and we feel this is the best move for everyone at this time,” ADRL Executive Vice President of Competition Bubba Corzine said.Spectator gates will now open at 9 a.m. on Saturday. After the final round eliminations, the monster truck and jet car runs will take place at 9:45 p.m., with the winner’s circle party that all fans are invited to slated to begin at 10 p.m. The Friday schedule remains unchanged.
