Picked up my pistol today
Went to the Roseville PD last monday and filed for a purchase permit, finished that up today...funny thing..the cop that signed my permit..was my DARE teacher in elementary school lol..i thought that was kinda funny lol. Anyways, ive looked around here and there..nothing exculsivly..but the permit is good for a week. After work today i stopped by a place AL told me about and looked around. I found a SigSauer 226 9mm that i liked instantly and picked it up. Maybe not as compact..but i need a bigger handle on my gun. Feels really good in my hand and is comfortable.

dude i think you will be really really , much more happy than w/ the glock.
thats what roseville carries too isn't it? or have they changed, we shot those in the basement range at roseville pd, b4 they issued them to the guys. i had a buddy w/ "connections" there. too bad he's retired now.
got to shoot way cool stuff that he has, full auto mp5, m16a1, and some sten , but i honestly don't what any of those models are....i never figured i could afford $5 grand for one to even care.
congrats, so i guess your guys shooting competition is coming up?

thats it nick.
Yea the gun just felt really good in my hand. The only downfall the guy could really come up with was its alittle bigger gun(little harder to conceal) but i mean i really cant get that small of a weapon..my hands just didnt fit to many guns well.

What are your guys suggestions on holsters(to conceal)? Like i stated..it is a little bigger pistol..but id still like to carry and have it not noticable.

Congrats on your new hand gun purchase. The SIG's are great guns, but the 226 is kinda on the big side for concealed carry, IMO, unless you are a relatively large framed guy yourself where you can more easily hide it. As far as holsters, I like the IWB's, specifically the kydex ones made by Sidearmor. They allow for very quick and smooth draws, and you can easily reholster even with pants that have a tight waistband. I also have a leather Galco Miami Classic shoulder rig which is very nice and allows for a place for 2 extra mags. I mainly use it during the colder winter months, where you can more easily conceal it with large loose fitting clothing. This method of carry also seems to work better for larger framed weapons like yours. Like hand guns themselves though, there are many choices, and each have their good points and bad, and some are more suitable than others depending upon the conditions. It's a personal preference choice and it's ultimately up to what you like the best.

You're out of your mind! You couldn't pay me to carry one of those squirt-gun-feeling, pieces of junk plastic. No sir, no thank you.

Yes well like i stated im not really a small guy. Thats really the reason why i opted for the 226. It felt really comfortable in my hand. Alotta the compacts felt *loose* in my hands. I held a couple with not so small of grips..and still didnt care for it. Once i picked up the sig it felt perfect. Its not that big of a gun guys. It surly can be conceled.
