Default Front sway bar

Question before I go remove stuff from under my car....

I have read on some stang boards that removing the front sway bar will improve weight transfer... and that it doesn't really change too much how it handles in everyday driving.

What do you all think? Will it make something else down there break sooner? Or is this a pretty safe mod?

If you like to take off ramps at their max or faster, dont do it, just unhook them at the track. You will not like it if you like to hit the corners fast. On my car, I have adjustable struts, and I grease up'd the end link bolts. When I go to the track, I loosen the struts to the 90/10 setting, and unbolt the end links. On the street, I can tighten the struts to 50/50 for a nice ride, or 40/60 for a firm ride. For everyday driving, the end links stay attached.

I wouldn't remove the sway bar for any kind of daily driven or even street driven vehicle. Sway bars reduce body roll. I'd do what strtracer said if your that worried about it. Usually if you have a half way decent suspension out back you don't really even need to disconnect the sway bar, especially in 13.0 sec. cars or even a 12 sec. car. I personally would rather stay clean and not crawl under my car at the track and learn how to pedal/drive the thing. Look at the chevelle video from last saturday that did a wheel stand, that's what happens without a sway bar.

haha thats so true..especially when ur coming north on 75 out of Ohio. once you pass over to michigan its like agreen flag on the race way..

Yeah, I figured it would be better to leave it alone, but I had to ask, since I'd read about it, and you can't beat the cost of a mod that involves no buying anything.

If you feel like spending some money, I have seen some companies than make replacement sway bars that are hollow. Very high strength, and lighter weight. I dont know it they are made for your car or even who the company is that makes them. Its in one of the magazines I get monthly(6 a month), I'll do a little looking and see if I can come up with somemore info.

Well... I know there's a ton of other things I want to get too, and top of the list are some nice rear wheels+tires... Damn them for changing the measurements on wheels for the 05... all those new wheels that say they fit 05s are so expensive! (big surprise there )
