Default Looking for an idea for furniture

So the idea here is to build an entertainment center out of car parts for my basement. But I don't really have any ideas on what to use to do it. I already have two Aluminum 4.6L blocks (sadly enough they are even the old teksid blocks, one of which is perfectly good) as end tables/lamps, a soap box derby car coffee table, a 40's-50's style gas pump which doubles as a lamp and a little storage closet, and an old 15 gallon bulk oil tank turned into a display case. I figure I'll get a couple of bench seats and some cheap flowtech SBC headers and flip them upside down at the ends of the bench seats to use as arm rests for couches. So, I am left with the only real need for furniture build from car rleated stuff being an entertainment center. So...ideas?

I'm obiviously single, huh?

Thats what i was thinkin, a suv with some actuators on the upper and lower doors, either attach the tv to the upper window, or build it into the back of the truck and hide it with the doors.

Sounds like a great idea. You could also get some bucket seats for more seating too.

I was actually thinking of that, hitting up goodwill or salvation army or something for the nastiest cheapest recliners possible and rigging up the recliner mechanisms under a couple bucket seats. Not sure that would work but I might try it anyway. Those would be last on the agenda. I was kind of thinking of a copule of pickup tailgates with the bottoms attached to the wall and then the cables that hold them up on the truck holding them up and also attached to the wall. Two of them above one another ought to hold everything I would need them to hold since they are so wide. The back of a van or something is a decent idea and all, but I don't know how I would get the whole back couple feet of a van into my basement. Sawzalling the back couple feet off a car could be a possibility though if I could find a junkyard that would let me do it. There any U-Pull It type junkyards up here anywhere? Omaha had a couple of decent ones which is where I came up with one of the two 4.6L blocks. Complete 4V motor from a Mark VIII for $175, sold the heads and intake and stuff cheap and still made money and still have the block and throttle body and some other misc. stuff.

Someone brought up the idea of using a front end on another board and hiding a TV in behind the grill and making the grill flip up. I'm not sure I could fit any kind of reasonably sized TV behind any grill though. So that brought me to the idea of the front couple of feet or the nose piece off something and then mounting the windshield sheel to the top of it and having the TV in there. Then you could put your other components behind the grill and hav that fold out of the way in some form. If it had headlight doors something could go behind those. If it had 4 eyes speakers could replace the high beams so it'd look like the old Thunderbolt air intake style.

I guess now I just have to find a junkyard and go find a suitable donor car. My dad has a 66 charger that he used as a parts car, but the problem with that is that none of the trim on it is any good. I might talk to him about using it, If I filled the holes for the trim around the grill no one would probalby even know trim was supposed to be there. Assuming the bumper and grill he has in it are any good at all.

If I didn't alreaddy have half the stuff, that would be a decent idea. I'd rather build it anyway. Besides, there is no way I could get the sympathy from them to come do anything to my house.

Here are the lamps btw since people were talking about pictures of stuff that is done. Yeah, crappy cell phone pics but you get the idea. I keep wanting to buy a digital camera, but I keep spending the money for one on cars/car parts.

Note the rod that appears to be owned in the second picture. It is, part of it is still attached to the piston laying on the table. That is how that block became a table.
