Busy...lots of family stuff for the wifes 30th b-day.
Friday I stayed home with the baby and also watched my 15-month old nephew while the wife went out with all her friends....I WATCHED THEM BY MYSELF. She owes me.
Had 23 people in the house on Saturday...all family.
Sunday went to the TinFish for dinner and had a few beers.
That's it.

Well...
Friday: My boss left early (as usual) So I too left early and went home to start working on opening my pool, which has not been opened since this month in 2002...3 fuckin years of shit, algae, sludge, and just over all shit. The cover and the stuff on top of it was disgusting and hard enough to get off the pool (water level in the pool was low) and the smell was unbearable!!! I finally got the cover off, and I got covered in that shit, washed the cover, folded it up and started fucking with the filter and pump. I messed with that for a bit then I went to work at the Beach Grill and didn't get home till 3am and didn't get to sleep till 5:30am or so.
Saturday: Woke up at 9am, started messing with the pool by 10 am. I started scrubbing the sides and the floor of that pool by 12:00pm or so (I had to wait for the pool to drain) and I was done scrubbing by 6:20pm that evening. Yup. almost 6.5 straight hours of scrubbing and cleaning that train wreck of a pool liner that was in there. I kept getting rained and stormed on too, but I wasn't stopping!!!
***If you have ever seen National Lampoon's Vacation (I believe it was the one where they went to Wally World) and you saw the black pool that was at the campground they stopped at, that was my pool before I started cleaning it. DISGUSTING!!! The pool is now spotless and blue as can be.***
So I started filling the pool, I called my second job earlier in the day to see if they really needed me (because I had a LOT to do and it was my Dad's birthday that day) and they said it was alright that I not go in that night. So I messed with the filters, the pump, and the lines a bit more. Took a shower and headed out to my Dad's, then back home, then to my friend Lenny's house, then home by 2:45am. I missed my cousin's high school graduation party thanks to having fuck with that pool, but she was fine with it and she understood. My wife and daughter still went.
Sunday: My back, chest, shoulders and arms were sore as fuck from scrubbing, all day the previous day, and I have a Wife-Beater sunburn on my neck, shoulders, and back, so I didn't do too much. I got the pool all filled up, drained the shit in the sand filter, heater pipes, the rest of the pool lines, "shocked" the pool with a bag of "shock," and I ran the filter from about 5pm till 9am this morning. An hour or two into the filtering, I skimmed and vacuumed the whole pool, emptied the filters, and flipped the filters back on and let it go all night.
So yeah, my weekend pretty much sucked ass, but I got a lot done. My Cobra has sat since about 3pm on Friday. And next weekend is all work, I need to make up for not being able to go in this previous Saturday.

Yeah, I know it will be worth it, but in the mean time, I'm fuckin tired and sore. Talk about a lot of work. I will NEVER let that pool get like that again. At the end of this season I'm shocking the hell out of that bitch and hoping that the water is nearly clear come the next summer.
No, I haven't gotten a hold of my next door neighbor yet. I was too busy and wasn't really in the mood to be climbing up on her garage to take that solar heater down if she did agree. I'm going to try to talk to her either this week or possibly next weekend. How much money do you think I'll need to spend to completely the rest of that piping? And you did say that you could help me with that if I really need it...right?

Diverter valve(bypasses heater) is around $60(maybe she already has one) and the rest is just hose, so its really not that expensive to hook up.
My pool had no algea in it this year or last when it was opened, just drain it 1/2 way, shock it, and cover it. I had some dirt to vacuum out, but that was it.
Yea, I can help with the heater install

Oh, and for the record, I didn't let that pool get that way in the first place. I bought the house in October of 2004. The previous owners moved out and into the wife's parent's house (who had passed on due to old age) and they had the house (now mine) for sale FSBO (For Sale By Owner) for a little over a year. They didn't open the pool the two years prior because they were busy with taking care of her parents.
