For those who love the original AC Cobra, you're going to love this. A reported alliance between U.S.-based ICONIC motors and AC Cars of the U.K. could result in the return of the AC Roadster to U.S. shores next year.
ICONIC founder, Claudio Ballard, has driven the company to bring the most modern of engineering and material practices to a contemporary interpretation of the classic roadster.

With a projected curb weight in the area of 2400 pounds and a 427-cid, 800hp naturally aspirated motor, the potential for legendary performance is well established. ICONIC anticipates 0-60 mph times below 3 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 200 mph. Extensive use of CAD (computer aided design) and advanced materials, such as chrome-alloy steel, carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb. help to account for the light weight, while bringing durability and stiffness to the chassis.
Specially designed 14-inch carbon-ceramic brake disks sit behind 18-inch front wheels and 19-inch rear wheels. Goodyear F1 Supercar Runflat tires are used, with a 275/35 profile up front and 325/30 tires in the rear.
"The ICONIC AC Roadster is more than just a car, it's among the world's most refined and beautifully designed super cars. It's the lightest, strongest, most well engineered, high performance roadster of our time. The engine, drive train, support electronics and overall chassis make this one of the most complete vehicle packages on the market today and is made right here in the USA," explained Ballard.
