slicks on stock autos? still good

well i heard that stock autos with slicks will slow the car down casue it wont spin off the line and then just bogg out. im looking into some NIttos or the new M/t streets. but some say its not worth it unless you have like a stall or heavy HP ....

Is the car totally stock? What rpm are you launching at? That would also affect it how it reacts.

MotownZ 07-11-2007 06:26 PM

now about 1500 on stock converotr. just read from about that dont know if its true

Neither the Nittos nor M/T Streets are slicks. They are Drag Radials. If you're launching at 1500 RPM you're not "launching."

Also...

Your spelling grammar and punctuation are terrible.

Your spell?

et street radials would do the trick and leave room for growth in HP. Nitto's are only marginally better than a normal street tire, but may work OK on your car

HAHAHAHA!!! I originally posted "You spell terribly," then changed the sentance around a bit and forgot to add "ing" to the back of "spell" when I changed up some of the verbage. Stupid me.

On street tires you should be launching around 2,000 -3,000 rpm, based on what your brakes can hold (or line lock).

On drag radials, it should be 3,000-4,000.

Is this a correct assumption????????????

At the track or on the street? I'd blow the street tires off my Cobra (when I had it) at 2000 RPM no problem on the street. (never had the car to the track) Those were on 18" wheels. My 17" Nittos DR's weren't much different.

its an auto so it will never launch that high without a stall

MotownZ 07-14-2007 07:15 PM

well thats on my soon to do list, problely a mid 3000 stall from vigilante but some say thats to high but i rather go big first then have to go bigger later on and more money

I wouldn't do under a 3200-3400
