The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Extreme Fan Experience presented by Mickey Thompson is a brand new fan appreciation program developed in cooperation with the ADRL for the 2011 racing series. Through this special program, candidates will enter at the Mickey Thompson trailer located in the midway and winners will be drawn and announced during the event. In total, there will be six groups of three winning fans: two groups will be selected each Friday, and four groups will be selected each Saturday. Winners will earn a chance for that up-close racing experience in a behind-the-scenes look at ADRL in action. They’ll also receive a Mickey Thompson t-shirt, as well as a guided tour of the starting line, finish line, pits, VIP suite and media room. All winners will also be featured in the live Internet broadcast, and on the ADRL website. “Personal interaction with fans is important to us,” said Carl Robinson, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “We attend each ADRL event to provide service to racers by supplying tires, mounting and balancing but we are also there to talk to fans about our street related products. This gives us a great tool to make that interaction more possible.”In addition to being an ongoing ADRL contingency sponsor, it was also announced that Mickey Thompson has been selected as the Official Tire of the 2011 ADRL Drag Racing Series, making this the second consecutive year for this prestigious role. The growing partnership with ADRL will allow Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels to increase their support to the drag racing teams once again in 2011. “It is a great pleasure for us to support the ADRL,” Robinson said. “The ADRL staff understands that we are passionate about working with and meeting the needs of the racers, and that really means a lot to us.” A great deal of momentum has been generated following the collaboration between Mickey Thompson and ADRL, resulting in the successful fulfillment of the ADRL Extreme 10.5 Three-Second Club. This program, awarding a number of prizes to the first five race teams achieving less than four-second runs in the Extreme 10.5 Class, was completed in the 2010 season. This year, in another big move, Mickey Thompson will be rewarding Extreme 10.5 racers a low qualifier bonus for their efforts at each of the 10 national events.
