The upside to the current market's "special edition" frenzy is the plethora of new parts that are available to add to your ride. The downside, of course, is that once you've made your choice of a car, you're pretty much stuck with it - special edition or not.

Not so any more. Hurst Performance Vehicles has opened the Hurst Garage in Irvine, CA, and drivers are invited to bring their latest model Camaros, Mustangs and Challengers for special attention. Other vehicles will be accepted in the future, but it is rumored that there is a classic, sixties-generation muscle car in there right now.
So, would this become a "true" special edition car? Absolutely. According to the company, each customized car gets its own dash plaque and Certificate of Authenticity. As well, your car's VIN is recorded in the Hurst archives so that "the pedigree of the vehicle can be traced for future owners and collectors."
So, you don't have to turn in your existing ride to get that special edition version you've been lusting after. Starting from the Hurst standard catalog of parts, the end result is limited only by your imagination and, of course, your wallet.
