Thumbs up Yesterday...chest workout from hell!!!

A buddy of mine arrived at the gym at the same time I did yesterday (not planned) and he also was planning to do chest that day. So we paired up and worked with each other. He called me and let me know that he too is in misery today...but what a great feeling.

Just off memory, here's what I remember of my workout. He was always working the same weight as me but he was usually within 5-10 reps with me.

Flat bench:
135lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 10 reps
275lbs x 10 reps
245lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 10 reps
185lbs x 15 reps
155lbs x 20 reps
135lbs x 20 reps

Cable Presses: (single pulley cables, not dual pulleys) **Hands cross over each other**
60lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
60lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
80lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
80lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
80lbs (per hand) x 15 reps
100lbs (per hand) x 15 reps
90lbs (per hand) x 15 reps
90lbs (per hand) x 15 reps
80lbs (per hand) x 15 reps
60lbs (per hand) x 10 reps
60lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
60lbs (per hand) x 20 reps
60lbs (per hand) x 15 reps

Incline press machine:
90 lbs (+ machine weight) x 10 reps
180 lbs (+ machine weight) x 10 reps
140 lbs (+ machine weight) x 10 reps
140 lbs (+ machine weight) x 10 reps
90 lbs (+ machine weight) x 10 reps
90 lbs (+ machine weight) x 8 reps (I couldn't finish the set)

Butterflies:
120 lbs x 10 reps
150 lbs x 15 reps
150 lbs x 10 reps
170 lbs x 10 reps
200 lbs x 10 reps
200 lbs x 10 reps

And I was spent.

Today is bad...tomorrow will be hell.

Damn Al, good work man. Seems everytime I read your sets, they go up and up. I was I could be 1/2 as dedicated as you are!

Thanks. The weight I listed in this thread are just terrible! I had to take about 10 or so days off because the pain in my right elbow and wrist were unbearable. Hell, even taking my half empty jug off the top of the refrigerator was hell. Shaking a customer's hand...terrible...still.

Wow thats alot but with the flat bench y even warm up with 135? Does that even warm you up? It seems like you should be cutting out some of those lighter sets and doing heavier sets. geez 275 10 times is huge but if you still have that much left in the tank after that set go big. haha. good luck with your workouts.

It warms up the shoulders. 275 x 10 is usually nothing for me. Like I said, I hurt myself again a few weeks back.
