Just spent an hour trying to start the truck
And it's a no go. This always happens when it's cold and wet outside... what's most likely problem and how many $100 is it gonna cost to fix?

Hmmm its a Vortec 4.3, correct? It may be the cam sensor. Is the check engine light on?

Run it out of/low on gas recently? Check the dizzy cap... I've seen em crack before as well because of super cold weather if they're old.

You know, that light is on, I kinda stopped noticing after a couple years.... Last time I checked it, it was related to my exhaust mishap, so I kinda forgot about it... who knows what other codes it's thrown since then.. going to buy one of those code reader things for it today.

Jus take it to a local parts place. Most of them will read them for free.

Ok, so the catalytic converter is plugged and broken inside... $800 GM parts, $500 3rd party... I'm thinking of opting for the cheapest option, just remove them... shouldn't be an issue with that, right? I mean, the stang runs better without them, so the truck shouldnt run worse at least?

I've had that SES light on for 3 years, it can stay on if it means I don't have to spend any $$... I'll just check the codes every now and then...

No no, it doesn't irritate me at all.. it's rather like an old friend.. I'd think something was wrong if that light wasn't on...
