NORWALK, OH (September 16, 2010) - The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) returns to Summit Motorsports Park for the last stop on the 2010 ADRL Tour before the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI.After a one-year absence, the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags returns to Norwalk for the fourth rendition of the Ohio Drags on Sept. 24-25. It is the ninth of 10 national events during the 2010 season.This year will mark the most anticipated Ohio Drags yet, as two races will be completed during one memorable weekend. Simpson Dragstock VII was postponed due to rain during the final qualifying session on Sept. 11, and the event will be completed on Sept. 24 in Norwalk. Eliminations for the Ohio Drags will take place the next day.The top eight drivers in each of the ADRL’s six classes (Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragsters) advance to the World Finals, which feature the prestigious Speedtech “Battle For The Belts.” The Ohio Drags marks the last chance for drivers to move into the top eight before the World Finals, which take place at Texas Motorplex on Oct. 22-23.In 2009, winners at the Ohio Drags III included Cody Barklage (Pro Extreme), Thomas Myers (Pro Nitrous), Spiro Pappas (Extreme 10.5), Paul Gast (Pro Extreme Motorcycle), Doug Kirk (Extreme Pro Stock) and R.J. Thacker (Pro Junior Dragster).The gates open at 9 a.m. Friday, with the final round of qualifying for Dragstock VII set to begin at 11 a.m. On Saturday, the racing will begin at 11 a.m. with the final qualifying session for the Ohio Drags IV.
