Rickie Smith Racing (RSR) is pleased to announce that Coffman Tank Trucks will join forces with legendary driver Rickie Smith for the 2011 race season. Smith, a longtime American Drag Racing League (ADRL) standout in Pro Nitrous, is looking forward to the 2011 ADRL Tour with Coffman Tank Trucks now on board as an associate sponsor.“I am so excited to have J.D. and Terrisa Coffman as part of my racing team,” Smith said. “They are great people and I intend for our relationship to last a long time.” The good news didn’t stop there for Smith, who entered last year’s Speedtech “Battle For The Belts” as the points leader in the highly-competitive Pro Nitrous class.Larry Tutterow has also extended his associate sponsorship with Rickie Smith Racing for the 2011 season as well, extending a partnership with Smith that Tutterow and Carolina Drilling have thoroughly enjoyed for the past 22 years. “I would also like to say thank you to Larry Tutterow and Carolina Drilling for the amount of support they have showed me the last 22 years,” Smith said. “I could not have done it without Larry and Carolina Drilling.”Smith is coming off of a strong 2010 ADRL season that saw him win three races. All of them came in consecutive races as Smith won a double-race weekend in Baytown, Texas, following that up with a win at the Hardee’s Independence Drags, which were completed at Gateway International Raceway. In all, Smith went to four finals in 2010, advancing to the semifinals of the “Battle For The Belts.”The 2011 ADRL Tour begins on March 25-26 at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, and, thanks in part to the new sponsorship from Coffman Tank Trucks and the renewed sponsorship from Carolina Drilling, Smith has his sights set on a World Championship in a Pro Nitrous class that will be as deep as ever.
