CRETE, IL (May 19, 2010)—After going to the ADRL Extreme Pro Stock final, but coming up just a little short last month at Valdosta, Georgia, Pete Berner and his Summit Racing Equipment team are looking to finish one position better this weekend at Petersburg, Virginia, in the ADRL Speedtech U.S. Drags III.“I enjoy making it to the final, and I can’t complain about our success, but I sure would like a win,” Berner said. “I know this Summit team is more than capable of doing that so it’s only a matter of time.”After damaging his primary engine, Berner will compete this weekend with his number-two motor, its twin, but remains confident it will be ready to perform.“We’re certainly looking forward to racing with the ADRL at Virginia Motorsports Park this weekend,” Berner said. “We’re figuring out our eighth-mile combination and hope to capitalize on that this weekend.“The fans in that area are great and really love door car racing. Combine that with the fact that the ADRL knows how to bring in a crowd and how to put on a great show and we should have a really great weekend,” he predicted. “I’m really looking forward to getting this Summit car to Virginia.”(ADRL/Richards file photos)
