I heard what heaven sounded like today
I was driving through medium traffic today when a Lambragini (sp?) 360 Modena? merged into traffic. I kept cruising but I happened to get next to him at a light but there were cars in front of us. I look over and nod and he looks over looks at my hood and then the 442 emblems and then he looks at me and nods. I'm not sure what I want to do at this point, I still need to retune my carb and get different spark plugs (these AC delcos don't hold up well to a high performance ignition system) but the light turns green and he gets ahead of me and I get behind him, man do those motors sounds sweet. I'm a muscle car person but those motors around something else to hear.
Anyways I follow him for a bit and then he turns on to a empty side road, as soon as I'm most of the way around the corner he guns it (I was pretty close to him at that point) so I floor it but I was having a little trouble grabbing traction but once I shifted the 442 ran like a dream. I must say he didn't pull on me nearly as hard as I would have imagined, but then again this new motor runs pretty damn good. The sound was the best part, I could hear his motor winding high and my V8 reving hard, it was a great sound, it almost brought a tear to my eye. I'm amazed I heard his motor so well over mine, alot of people say my car idles quiet but its almost unbearable to be behind under full throttle, I have headers, 2.5" true duals and Dynomax ultraflos by the way. Well I get up to about 70 or so I think and he lets off and so do I and I followed him a bit to see if he was going to go to a different back road (this one had a couple cars ahead of us) but he ended up turning into a devolopement so I went back to where I was going. I just have to say again the sound of both of our motors reving was beatiful, it gave me goose bumps.
