Default Wild AMC project

A friend of mine(since we were 5 yrs old) is a craftsman when it comes to building cars( He's an artist by trade). Heres some pictures of his current project. A 1964 AMC Rambler Convertible

The mods are extensive
Chopped Convertible Top
Clamshell Hood with welded on cowl scoop clearenced for the fuel injection
Suicide doors
Side opening trunk
Mini wheel tubs
Narrowed and molded in bumpers
Air Ride suspension
Custom frame connectors channeled into the floor
401 AMC with an old Crower Stack injection converted to EFI
Tremec 5 speed
and it goes on and on.

Cool, I always like AMCs, I would like to own a Merlin one day, I always had a soft spot for them.

This is his daily driver, a 73 Hornet with a 69 390 and 4 speed, and he owns a 68 AMX that has won so many awards that The AMO club wont let him be judged anymore.

I wont say it doesnt take money to do that kind of work, but he is very carefull to control costs. Hes got a family, nice house, and is self employed, so he really has to watch his money. He does alot of restoration work for other people(paint and body), which helps the project along, and he plans very well, he knew from the start that this was a 4-5 year project. I think his greatest gift is the attention to detail, look at the suicide doors, at the jams, and you realize that that used to be the front of a door with hinges. Everytime I look at it I see something different.

That Rambler is gonna be sweet. I like the Hornet too. Both are real cool.
