My old engine was 13.5:1 and it ran best at 30* timing, I started with 26* and played with it from there. I would have been able to run more timing with better fuel but I had a decent surplus or 110 to burn up first and never got to run anything else before I sold everything.

I know how bad it sucks to have all this shit happen, just when you think you have it all good something else pops up. I hope you get it all straight, I'd like to see that thing running at the next NO E/T. Good luck !!!!!

thanks nate well guys I did what your saying we put the head gaskets on it started the timing at 30 and it runs GOOD the carb is fat as hell and we didnt have any jets ,so next time out should be even better. but now Im scared the trans wont last huge flare in 2nd to drive shift. i dont like that at all . but the good news is she is def makeing some power
