Just a tip in case you weren't aware: if the GT-40 heads are stock chamber size, you can pick up a bunch more by getting them milled down a bit. Stock chambers on those are like 64cc if they're the motorsport ones and like 62CC if they're the cobra ones. You can mill them down quite a bit and get the compression up, and it only costs like $55.
Back in the day I did mine like that, but I had mine milled all the way to 55cc and had the intake cut to match. It made great power, but if you're going to do that you need to run 93 octane. That put me at around 10.1:1 with the stock shortblock I think.
