It prob doesnt help you Al, but I have a Hayward earth filter that I dont need. My neighbor gave it to me, but she said she thought it might need some new fingers because it lets a tiny bit of filter material into the pool. Its yours for free if you end up getting that desperate.
And fwiw, the earth filters actually filter better than sand.
I have my pump on a regular xmas lights timer, works great.

Well, last night I tried this "Putty Epoxy" that my neighbor's employee gave me. Pretty cool shit, actually. It's in the shape of a cylinder, you cut off what you need, and start needing, twisting, mixing, it in your hands/fingers till the product is all one uniform color. It also gets pretty warm from the 2 chemicals reacting with each other. Then you place it over the area you want bonded, spread it out, and it get's rock hard in 20 minutes, and you can drill/sand/paint/tap it within an hour. I did it last night (inside and outside the tank) and am assembling everything back together today. Wish me luck!

They don't service/stock/order Jacuzzi items. I called them a few weeks back. How could he hook me up? **just curious**

Dennis, right? From MM? Aren't you way on the opposite side of town from me? Thanks for the offer, though. Hey...what ever happened to you getting those train horns and you and I going out and causing trouble with them?

Thanks, but I think I will stear clear of another filter that already has problems. As far as the pump timer: My filter isn;t actually 220 like I thought, it's 110 but it does has some weird 3 progs on the plug that are placed in a circular motion. I talked with an electrician today and he tells me that there is no such "plug in" timer for that type of plug and that it would have to be "hard wired" in and that that will cost me $160-$170.

Go to the hardware store, buy a new 3 prong plug, cut the old one off, wire the new one on.

Well, the putty epoxy lasted less than 10 minutes. Even with my scoring the hell out of the inside and outside of the tank. I also doubt this plastic welding shit is going to work. If it doesn't I will empty it all out and take it to the guys you mentioned to see if they can weld it correctly. This shit is getting old!

Thats funny I bought my pool from them last year and they sold me a Jacuzzi filter. Also I needed a part for my tank this year(Istripped it) and they got it for me. He can get you a new one with a discount. I've sent alot of people his way and he's given them the best deals they found so far. It's your call but he'll even tell you that you have to buy either a new top or the whole tank to fix it. There is to much pressure for that stuff to fix it permanently

Thanks. I may not have any choice but to buy new shit. Maybe the guy I spoke with there didn't want to be bothered when I called. I'll ask for your boy next time I call.

Well the plastic welding didn't work either. Son of a bitch! I now have all 200+ lbs of sand and water out of the tank, the filter system all apart and out of the tank, the tank is cleaned, dried and ready for me to bring it to Laird plastic on mu lunch break this upcoming Monday. If they can't fix it, no one can.
Also Speedy, I called your boy's store today at about 1:20pm but he wasn't in. I was told by the two guys there that they didn't know if they serviced, sold, did maintenance on, Jacuzzi parts. I am going to take a shot in the dark and guess that your buddy is significantly brighter than the dumb shits that were there today.

i'm not sure if you can find it, but it is actually approved for space shuttle repairs. i "heard" it was $100 for a about a 4 oz. package , it comes 2 parts to mix i'm really unsure of the size it's been a while since i used it.
BELZONA is what it's called

Al, forgive me if I'm not reading shit right, as I have had a few Mojitos tonight.
But it sounds like the leak is right at the Top where the "NECK" is connected to the tank?? Have you tried epoxying all the way aroud it?? I don't know what a pool filter runs at, psi wise, but I would think any good epoxy would work as long as you prep it right. I've had some amazing results with epoxies!!! Can you post a better pic, maybe of the actual crack, since you are king picture taker!!
If the epoxy or fiberglass doesn't work, there is something wrong with your scuffing/prep. JMO.

I have tried everything. And you are correct, the crack is on the neck/top part of tank right on the seem. Those epoxies just crack off and expose the area once the tank expands due to pressure. My prep work was very good. 60 grit sand paper, alcohol, clean towels, etc.
