just got pulled yesturday on 275 south tword 94. doin speed limit and he was drivng on the other side of 275 in a yukon. went into a turn around. i was watching my mirror.. was like 1/2 miles back and slowly inched up to me. i was about to get onto 94 when i see his dome light go on. so i pull over. stop the car, roll down all my windows. he tells me he pulled me over for my tint. i explained about my eye and how i have a doctors appt next month. he ran my liscence and registration, came back and told me to have a good day. he was a younger guy.
funny part is the front windows on his yukon where tinted.

not that we like doing it but we just tinted a 02 mustang for an officer BTW our Limo film is a total of 3% when combined with the OEM tint in glass. but nonetheless 3% All around 20% on the whole front shield. Yea id say its a good thing hes got a badge. personally i've gotten tired of the darker shades of tint for a couple of reasons.
- one, it tends to make people want to look inside because they Know your hiding something... I.E. audio, performance parts, expensive gauges, tools...ect ect...
- two, has a tendacy to draw in more heat with the darker shades. lighter tint shades seem to be more reflective and direct heat away...
i've removed all the darker shades. My 95 Escort has 30% all around with 50% on the front whole shield. 92 Civic has a 40% bronze tint all around with a 50% on the shield. And our 05 Scion xB is rolling with a 40% on the front doors and factory privacy glass on the rear which is about a 27%. Shields getting replaced so i havent done it but will also recieve the 40% bronze treatment. Toyota glass tends to show more of a bronze look than charcol. After tinting windows for about 12 yrs now, eventually aesthetics play more roll than privacy.

hmm..i wonder would know for sure. Maybe i'll call the ploice station and ask them...
From what i've always heard and read..any back windows you can have as dark as you want. then the front two you are only allowed a 4'' piece and nothing on the windshield..anyone ?

Im pretty sure the windshield can have a strip at the top, and thats it....
Thats about as specific as i can get...lol
as for the front 2 windows, I know they can be tinted down to a point i just cant rememer how far down....
My tint job and exhaust sound cost me $3000 so think about it...lol
the cop told me he never woulda pulled me over if the car didnt have tinted windows..
I got the tint ticket dropped..lol Isnt Grosse Point Woods nice? too bad I got stuck with and OWVI instead..... But at least it keeps me off the road when i drink now.... oh and i still have the tint on the front windows.

You can have a 3" strip at the top of the windshield and that's it.

And no more than 4" of tint at the very top of your front windows (driver and passenger doors) Screw the law, just tint the bitch and be on the constant look out for cops. When you see them, roll the windows down. Even in the rain and when it's snowing.

They seldom even notice the windshield. On my last vehicle (1998 Explorer) I had the entire windshield done in 15%, the driver and passenger windows in 5% (limo) and all the windows behind the passenger and driver done in 5% plus the factory tint that was manufactured into the glass. As soon as I have the money to do so, I having the Cobra stripped and done in limo tint from the driver and passenger back, and 15% on the windshield. I have a prescription from a doctor.
