A 4.6 swap would be a cool but it will take a bit more than just tossing a engine and tranny in. You'll need the harness and Im pretty sure the gauge cluster too. 4v engines are hard to find and cost big $. You're better off going 2v then adding FI to it IMO. Would cost only a little more and would make more HP. The 8.8 is the only way to go. Or 9", but the 8.8 will bolt right in. I sold my stock 8.8 to a kid with a v6 from OH on Stangnet. Like I said, SVT32VDOHC can hook up up with Stang stuff. He's my bud too so I'll make sure he takes care of you or I'll pound him. He's got a 2v for you too.
What are your plans for Woodward?

First off: My dad will not use his sled this year garunteed! He wants to sell it and will always have an excuse as to not to ride it when there is snow..hahaha. Second off...the 22's, are you kidding me? 5 weeks? Those wont see pavement for the next 5 years if he owns them! Those things havnt felt pavement in about two or three years already! He put them on the first two years he had the truck and that was it. His excuse, "Theyll get dirty and i cant clean them". So dont count on the wheels being on when you see him again. I told him id put them on, he said no, he doesnt want to ruin them with them getting dirty. Whatever. His truck looks great with them on, and he is just wasting them away letting them sit in a basement. Talk some sense into him will you? Tell him the truck NEEDS them on there...haha
Onto my car. If im going to swap it, im not wasting my time with a SOHC swap. Yes, a SOHC boosted will make more power than a cobra motor stock, but then what? Where do i go from there? Internals? Naaah, i dont feel like busting into a motor just yet. A very mildly built DOHC motor can make as much power as a FI SOHC without busting into the internals. Headwork stuff/cams/real nice tune and ill be making close to what a FI SOHC is putting down. So if im going to go through all the trouble of a swap, im doing it right, and going DOHC. That gives me an amazing starting point for a motor.
As for the cluster, you really dont need one, but it is best to get one so i would! I also know its not a cake walk putting one in. I would need a rear end so i dont shatter my 7.5, i would have to get PATS taking care of, transmission wiring redone along with all the engine wiring, convert to hydroboost and all componnets that go with that, along with ecu, a new k member, and a bunch of other stupid little things.
Thanks for referring me to your friend too! Ill keep that in mind when im looking for my 8.8 next season! As for woodward, my move in date at CMU is the 16th so i wont be there. Although, i am making a trip down the thursday before the actuall cruise. Should be a fun packed night! Hopefully ill see some of you guys there!
.Chris.

LMAO thats is your dad to a T lmao.I tell him all the time to put the 22s on but he says they get covered in brake dust.
You're not giving the 2v engine enough credit. They will run A LOT fater than you think . There is a little shop down in Atlanta that has done A LOT with 2vs. Check it out. http://www.modularpowerhouse.com/forums/index.php I know guys who have had stuff done there Tim Barth knows his shit. Wish he was up here or I lived closer.
You've done your homework on the rest.
Matt is a member here and he also is local in SE Mi. He knows his Mustangs too. He can tell you about engine swaps. He jsut did an 01 into a 81 so a 4.6 swap will be cake. I MIGHT be out there Thursday night but I doubt it. Whats your plans for this W/E?

Yes, yes...im prolly not giving the SOHC enough credit i know. I have a couple friends with some MEAN SOHC cars. All FI cars. One of them is Im2Slow over on MM. He has the Sunset Orange Metallic car that won car of the month? Also his friend jake has a real nice one! They both run some great numbers...but are toped out unless they start doing internal work. I know that a gt with a 100-150 shot would be in what...the 13's. Now, lets compare that to a 99 or 01 cobra with that same shot on it....
Its gonna be a bit faster than a 13. Thats why i want a DOHC. To me, it would be less work to the motor to make it go just as fast. Although, a sohc is more econimcal for me. Im 18, am in college, and a cobra motor like you said is pricy. Plus, im not looking for a race car, so a nice turbo or s/c sohc would be good enough for me street driving....
I have lots to think and plan for, and lots of saving to do. So, ill make my decision on day! Until then, ill just dream about a turbo 5.4.....hahaha
As for this weekend, i dont know yet. Saturday i was hoping to hit up Lapeer and use my raincheck from the last time i went there. Id like to know if i can hit a 16 with spray in my car! Other wise, prolly just sit in P Town and watch some races....
I was thinking of heading to Tele on friday, but that will most likely not happen.....

A 2v 4.6 with a 100-150 shot (which is a lot for a stock internal 2v) will run low 12s all day long. The person who use to own this site had a 2004 GT auto that ran low 12s with a 100 shot and a few other mods. See I told you. You're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay under estimating the 2v engine.
You planning on auto or 5/6 spd manual?
Turbo 5.4 lol
Might head out to WW Saturday.

Well, my friend Josh is making 485 to the tire on his FULLY STOCK 2v. Although its on race gas. On 93 i want to say it put down 389 or something.....
So the 2v will work for me. I just didnt want to push a stock 2v to its limit to get into the 12's when with a cobra motor, you can hit 12's very easy with a very little amount of work and still have a very reliable motor.
As for woodward, i may head down, i may not. I really dont know my weekend plans till the weekend...haha

First time at the track today!
Car ran a 16.80 on motor, and a 15.20 on spray! Thats with a 75 shot! I shot it out of the hole, and it just spun up to about 40mph. So i was waiting on the spray. I need a tire......
Overall, im impressed on how much the nitrous helps!!
Also, beat a 3rd gen 305 stick camaro last night out on the street. Gave him the leave, took him by 3 or 4....
