Yes, the car is insured, but I'm fucked up in the head. It all works out later down the road.

Wouldnt get me down there. Been there done that and was stopped by a cop for no reason at all.
Cop: You ran that stop sign.
Me: No, I came to a complete stop because I saw you.
Cop: You were speeding down this street
Me: No, I was doing no more than 20 because I saw you
Cop: What exactly are you doing in this neighborhood
Me: I work at the mental hospital around the corner
Cop: Oh ok, have a great day.

Incident #2, sitting at an intersection and some ass in a Monte stops dead, looks at me and proceeds to do doughnuts right in front of me.

Cobra never went downtown again after that.

But seriously, I used to go to downtown Detroit with my Cobra all the time. Go to the casinos, bars, etc... I have never ever had a problem or even a bad vibe. I could see a problem if your hanging around in front of a crack house in the subs, but not downtown.

Anyways, count us in Al.

Shit, I work in probably the safest spot in DT...cops everywhere, full time security, cameras all over the street.

You always see bums and weirdo's walking around bugging everyone until security tells them to leave. We've had 2 car-jacking attempts (that we found out about, they try to keep it quiet). One employee told a bum he couldn't have a cigarette and the bum started choking him.....security cam running out and held him till the cops showed up. Just this week this guy is just screaming on the street walking around. Went into HardRock and got himself maced....cops came to arrest him and he spit in one cops face. Next thing you know the guy "slipped" into the side of the biulding and his head is bleeding. This was 2:30PM on a Wednesday afternoon. Saw the whole thing (minus the macing part inside).

Don't fool yourself and think it's all safe and cheery down here. Not saying it's any better in other cities....but I want no part of D-town. I go home after work and don't look back.

I'm not saying it's safe...because it's not. But really, no place is anymore. Downtown Detroit has a lot of cool places...casinos, greektown, bars, etc, etc... and I'm not going to not go down there because they have problems.

Hell, go to Wild Woody's or Mt. Clemens for a car show and you have a 70% chance of seeing a fight now days

People suck. Period. Simple as that.
