Do you know what year of the car that the engine came out of and what car? The 70-73 are the preferred engines but the 74-76 had a thicker cylinder wall but had open chambered heads so the compression ratio was only 7.5-8.5. The numbers are printed on the block just above the #1 cylinder on the deckplane. Those are the best numbers to check. The 455 put out gobs of torque( factory rated at 510 ftlbs.) and were overall small, not too much bigger than a SBC and Weigh about the same. They have 2 bolt main and strong push rods. The bore is 4.31 and the stroke is 3.90. You can ask the guys at V8buicks.com for info on your numbers, it is a forum like this one for buick enthusiasts and TAperformance.com has performance parts for the 455.
