Default Another new to the site...

Hi, new here and thought I'd post a quick introduction... I live out by Jackson, but commute in to Troy most days for work.

I drive a stock 05 mustang gt but I'm planning some light mods such as intake, exhaust and computer tune.

With my commute, I end up putting around 1k miles / week on it, so my goal is to do what I can performance wise, without giving up reliability or longevity... Not sure yet how that's gonna work out, but if anyone has hints or tips for mods that are "safe", I'm all ears.

Welcome,

A computer reprogram is critical on the 05's, and if its a stick, youll want a new shifter early on. Since youre out in jackson, check with Pauls Hiperformance, theyve got a good head start on 05 mods. Id say headers/exhaust, shifter, and a tune to start. Maybe a cold air intake too, depending on budget, but definitely plan on doing it all at once so you dont have to have the computer retuned twice.

I suggest buying a reliable, yet pretty cheap, daily driver. That is an assload of miles to be putting on a brand new car.

Welcome.

That depends on the type of car. On a Mustang? No, keep the miles low and the condition nice.

Welcome! I'd buy a cheap reliable beater (Escort,Cavilier, etc) so it'll save on gas and you don't have to worry about beating the hell outta it.
