The slowest cobra's were by far the 80-81 ones. They make an Escort look fast! I'm sure you guys weren't going that far back though.

For all of you SVT Cobra fans wanting to write in, let us first state that we did indeed get the Cobra into the 13s. We got a best time of 13.97 in the quarter-mile, but when rounding off to the nearest tenth, we had to call it a 14.0. Also keep in mind that we do not test at a dragstrip, which would offer a superior surface to the airport runway we conduct our testing on. One other interesting factor in the times we generated was that just before we got our Cobra loan, Ford decided that the tires were worn out and required replacement. When we got the SVT it was equipped with brand-spanking-new Goodyear Eagle ZR45s instead of the much stickier BFGoodrich Comp TAs that it normally had. Apparently the BFGs have been discontinued. Our best run was the third one with the traction control on and our driver short-shifting it at 6,600 rpm, instead of the 6,800 redline or the 7,000 fuel cut off.

That was from the link YOU posted.
And did you do a search for the slowest Cobra 1/4 mile time in print?
And I'm spent.
