Are you kidding me?? The Taurus was the most problematic car Ford ever built next to the Contour and Mercury Mystake.
Not bashing you or Ford, just stating the obvious..

The problem is everybody is resorting to cheap labor. They are building things in different countries where people are dieing to work. I personally don't like it but there's not much you can do right now.

Every 100 cars GM sells will support 23 american jobs. Foriegn car companys support LESS THAN HALF that number per 100 cars.
That's the fact. IMO if you are not supporting the economy that FEEDS you, you are stupid. When you lose your job, or your property value declines, you can thank people like yourself who blindly go through life doing whatever they want without using their heads. This is MICHIGAN. Almost EVERYONE (in one way or another) works for the auto industry.

all of this would be a moot point if we were still building the best cars in the world( excluding small volume producers) like in the 50's and 60's when the big 3 totally dominated the north american market.
this is off of kbb, two comparible cars, one ford and one toyota, top trim levels no extra options
2002 toyota camry XLE v6 50,000 miles excellent condition private party value: $13,290
2002 ford taurus SEL duratec 50,000 miles excellent condition private party value: $8,290

You need to know your facts. In the 50's and 60's we didn't build the best cars-there was no forign competition. My wifes 2001 taurus which has over 110k runs excellent. We paid approx 20k w/ a-plan and couldn't be happier with it. We looked at othe cars but most were priced higher, including the toyota! If the car companies fail if affects EVERYONE here in Michigan. Why do you think Michigan's economy is down while other states are up? It's because we live and die w/ the automakers.

I'm not talking about now, I'm saying since they came out in 1985. They didn't have huge rebates ALL those years! Nevermind I give up. I see it's totally pointless.

we did build the best mass produced cars. the reason there was no foreign competition is because nobody else except VW thought they could import cars that would compete with the big 3.. oh i forgot about the companies that became amc lol
