2smooth I need rep points!
Default Low Carb or Low Cal ?

Just started back at the gym, it's been 2.5 years and I've acquired some abdominal fat but I'm only 10lbs above my typical weight. Gonna hit the cardio hard before or after lifting, what should my diet look like? Never been on this side of the spectrum I was always the one bulking eating everythig in sight, so any tips will be appreciated

sent you pm at MM.
but for all who want to know I prefer low carb/ carb cycling type of diet. I dont eat simple or complex at 5-6pm at night. Only fiberous carbs with protein. (salad or broccoli is my choice)

What's your thoughts on the whole carbs in the PWO shake argument???

I've read a ton of conflicting things on the different Contest Prep forums. Waxy Maize Starch, Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Rice Cakes, Oats etc. Simple vs. Complex etc.. Basically just as many opinions as there are a-holes. Lol

Hence, some say insulin spike is good PWO pre contest, some say bad, some say it doesn't matter and they'd rather get their daily allotment of carb macro's from whole food. Hell, some say just skip the PWO and go directly to the next meal.

What's your thoughts?

ok...not a real simple answer here BUT most feel you need to utilize the insulin surge for better growth. OK...IF you are trying to lose BF...stay CARB LESS PWO. USE 10 grams glutamine and 10 grams creatine instead. Glutamine powder raises insulin greatly PWO.
During dieting for a show I NEVER do the pwo shake UNLESS water and whey only (with my glutamine and creatine)..

IN the offseason..I will do carb shake post workout with exogenous insulin
