We've seen a whole lot of nutty commercials making all sorts of crazy claims. Even when we see filmed commercials like this DieHard battery ad, we have to wonder how much of it is the real deal or pure Hollywood magic (we're talking to
you, Toyota trucks). While this particular advertising spot won't necessarily sway our future automotive battery purchases, we did have to smile a little when seeing New Wave synth-pop demigod, Gary Numan rockin' quite a bit of mascara and looking like quite the goth kid patriarch.
Three decades after Numan's digitized monster hit, "Cars," the keyboardist paired up with DieHard batteries to power 24 cars, Numan's synthesizers, amps, speakers and some stage lighting all with a single battery. We thought it was fun - although not exactly timely - to the point that we wanted to include the original Numan video (see below). And if you liked this, we'll probably do something with Oingo Boingo next week...
