Finally got to drive my 442
I finally got her and man did I miss her. The knocking noise is defintantly the water pump because the knocking got worse and when I pulled back in the garage I could see the water pump pulley wiggle. Oil pressure is spot on. I only went less than a mile and only put past 3k rpms once. I think theres a flat spot in my carb too, it might be the fuel though because it only has a 1/4 tank and its been sitting since december, and she doesn't like anything below premium to begin with. I'm going to put the new water pump in tomorrow and drive her around, wash her, and of course put new gas in.

Sounds good, Jake, gas shouldnt be too bad just from December, but it never hurts to have fresh. Flat spot could be a mis adjusted choke or a dryed out accelerator pump. When you do the water pump, take the old one with you to the parts store, there are 3 different pumps ,and you want to make sure you get the correct length, other wise the pulleys wont line up.

Theres nothing like that feeling of driving your car after a long winter hibernation. Fortunately I got to drive mine the past few weeks, but we're forecasted for snow the next few days so its back to the hooptie

I know Strtracer is going to say "I told you so" but I got the wrong water pump. I thought it was the right one but the one I got was for a A/C car and mine is a non A/C. So I guess I wasn't suppose to drive my car this weekend, I should get the new one monday at least.
