ADRL Releases Info On Starting-Line Access, New VIP Viewing Area

O’FALLON, MO (February 22, 2011) - In a continuous effort to make each event as safe as possible and also to allow the best racing and viewing experience for everyone involved, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) has announced details for its membership registration and restricted-area access on the starting line.The ADRL will make a sustained effort to manage and improve race safety by introducing new starting-line safety measures for the 2011 season, which starts on March 25-26 with CarSafe Dragpalooza VII presented by LenMar Motorsports at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.Insurance regulations require the amount of people on the starting line be kept to a minimum and, with the ADRL’s addition of new safety equipment and personnel, it also ensures the company’s commitment to safety.In addition, the ADRL is also excited to announce a new and unique viewing area next to the starting line in order to give crew and sponsors an incredible live viewing experience.Starting in March, the following safety measures will go into effect: • A restricted-area armband will be required to enter the starting-line area. • Restricted-area armbands will only be available for drivers and crew members. • To receive an armband, the driver and each crew member must sign a waiver, which will be available at the ADRL Membership Services area. Each person must also be an ADRL member to obtain an armband. • Drivers will receive an armband free of charge. The cost of each restricted-area armband for crew members is $40. • To enter the starting-line area, crew members must wear their restricted-area armband, along with a matching collared crew shirt for easy identification by track and security personnel. • Crew members will only be allowed on the starting line when their team is racing.The ADRL will also be providing a special VIP/Sponsor viewing area for the first time in 2011. This exciting viewing area will be located directly by the starting line, giving racers, crew members, teams and sponsors a wonderful opportunity to view all the racing action from behind the guardwall.“The restricted access area is just that - it is restricted for the safety of fans and participants, and for the efficient operation of an ADRL events. We do not want to limit anyone’s ability to do their job or enjoy an event, but we have to keep that area clear,” ADRL Vice President Jeff Fortune said.“We are also introducing our new safety tech equipment and additional personnel for 2011, and these policies are added measure that will promote a safer race.”
