Psyco Diver 69 I need rep points!
Default The motor is painted and almost finished

I painted the motor tonight, it still needs a couple more coats but it looks good. I painted my M/T valve covers black and taped off the ribs and letter and painted the rest gold. I'll wait till I'm done painting before I take off the tape. I also painted my headers but I didn't grab a picture of them. The only parts I'm waiting for now is my timing chain, valve retainer keys, and new torque converter. Now to the pictures:

I've never seen a gold painted engine but it doesn't look bad at all.

Yea, Olds used bronze in the 60's, and gold in the early 70's on the small block motors, switched everything to corporate blue in the late 70's when they started stickin chevy engines in everything without telling the buyers. They caught a lot of hell for it, people wanted an Olds, Buick, Pontiac motor in their respective models, if they had wanted a chevy they would have bought one.

Well since my parts didn't come in today like I planned I finished painting the motor. I have to go back over the valve covers and touch them up since the tape didn't cover everything right, not a big deal though. I only have the one header attached because I have the other on at a family friends shop getting weld because one of the flanges had a crack in it (which would explain why I would go through a header gasket every month).
