Well I just finished tonight the head (p.i.) and Hitech motorsports cam swap. After about 40+ hours of porting (free), 4 hours to degree the cams (sohc) and a few evenings of wrenching she fired right up. This was a project I helped a friend with on his 96 GT stang. I love the sound of a cammed modular..... but F'in hated the tight quarters that I had to work in
. I have done a few of these swaps now and they get easier every time. I cannot get over the fact that the factory drivers side cam gear was 6* off on the intake center line, nothing but a little grinding to fix that
. There really is no point to this thread other than the fact that I feel better knowing that even with my back being jacked up I still can work some majic on a car. I can't wait to meet up with some of ya'll and have some fun.
I'm donating my ET streets for some burnouts at Diamond's first car show.
Four gauges, frame ties,a tune and a little suspension tweeking and we are ready some 12 sec. 1/4 passes from a pretty much stock little 4.6
I'm done blabbing...... lol
