Norwalk track rental interest
OK I've talked about this before. Were still looking into it and need to pick a date out. All Fridays are gone so I posted up a poll. Check it out and vote if your interested in doing it. http://www.ahsa.cc/forum/index.php?showtopic=621
Thanks
Mike

Nothing against Norwalk, but have you looked at Mid Michigan Motorplex for rental dates? It's closer and just as good of a track as Norwalk.
I've never run my car at Mid MI, but I know guys who have and they all say that Mid MI is as good as US 131-Martin, Norwalk and Natl. Trail in Colombus. Also, Every year they host the Pure Stock Muscle Car drags, so that says something about the track right there.
Just a suggestion.

Mid Michigan is a good track, but I would disagree that it is on the level of Norwalk.

That's not what I've heard. In fact I know 2 guys who'd rather run at Mid Mi than anywhere else around. Norwalk and Martin included.

Yep, you're right about Milan. I was there last year for the rental day and it was terrible. No food (like they said there would be), and shitty track prep as usual. Bathrooms are still a dump. Track needs to be re surfaced and the stands are from the 80s. I'm done running at Milan, 'til they start running it like the other tracks that are availiable. Sad thing is, I know the owners. One of my wifes biggest customers. At least they've got a paved pit area unlike you know where.
Don't know how Mid Mi is about tech on rental days, but I imagine it's going to be just like any other day. Safety 1st. Can't blame tracks for being pickey. They're just covering themselves from being sued.

I was going to suggest Grand Band also. Great track. Host the Canadian Mopar Nats ever year.
Havn't run there either..... Yet.

Milans track surface is one of the best around. The only place my car has ever 60 footed better was 131 I've gone 1.37 at milan and 1.35 at 131. Now if the track wasn't prepped it would suck for sure but that goes for any track.

Last year at the rental there was a dead tree right at the starting line and leaves were all over. They didn't clean them up and they were in the burnout box and all the way up to the starting line.

I had great luck with my old car there, but with my turbo car it got loose at the top of the track. There were similar small tire cars doing the same thing there.

Milan has come a long way, that track used to be almost worthless for traction. In the last few years they've really improved it. The heads up nights there are awesome.
I've rented St. Thomas a few times also, I like that track too.

St. Thomas is a nice track, not to mention it always seem to be pretty vacant...plenty of runs. Too bad it is getting harder and harder to get across the damn border.
