Psyco Diver 69 I need rep points!
Default My 442 is on the road again

I'm happy to say I finally got the 442 back on the road. Its been a rough road but I'm happy. The car runs great, except its hard starting, I think the starter is going to go, I knew I should have put a new one on but I didn't think this one was going bad. Damn headers. Also I think I have a flat spot on my fuel curve but it seemed to fix itself, I think because the carb sat around for 4 or 5 months the jets got gunked up, it was running better after about some driving. I only hit half throttle a couple times, once I was at a red light, with a full tank and a bunch of stuff in my trunk and my car just lit the tires up. Very torquey motor. I'll bring my car to my friend this weekend to have him take a look at my carb. By the way I had about a gallon left in my tank when I hit the gas station and I told the guy to top off the tank with premium, I almost choked on my own tongue when I saw the bill for $44.50, ouch.

But I don't care I got a mile down the road and I was cruising and I just smiled and thought this is what is all about, nothing drives like a old muscle car or feels like a muscle car, and I've driven a lot of different cars (even my friends very very quick 97 Firebird) and nothing can compare to it. I missed this car more than any women I've ever been with (even though the current girl I love comes pretty close) You have no clue untill you have driven one.

Youre absolutely right, there is nothing like a classic muscle car, maybe theyre a little primitive by todays standards, but the overall fun factor makes up for that big time.
Glad youre back on the road

and thats what its all about..you can work on that car for months..be completely fed up with it. and then drive it for just 5 minutes and it will make it completely worth it

Glad to hear its back on the road!!
