Default LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI/Speedtech “Battle For The Belts” Fact Sheet

ENNIS, TX (October 15, 2010) - The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) is set for its annual double-race weekend to conclude the 2010 ADRL Tour on Oct. 22-23 at Texas Motorplex and it will award its world champions at the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI and the Speedtech “Battle For The Belts.”Both highly-anticipated events will be completed during the weekend, as world champions will be crowned on Friday in the “Battle For The Belts,” while the World Finals, which also count as the first points-paying race for the 2011 season, will be finished on Saturday.The top eight drivers in each of the ADRL’s six classes (Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragsters) will take part in the prestigious Speedtech “Battle For The Belts” on Friday.In addition to the World Finals eliminations on Saturday, a special concert from rock n’ roll legend Vince Neil of Motley Crue will also take place. Neil is scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 after the semifinal round and before the finals.In 2009, “Battle For The Belt” winners included Todd Tutterow (Pro Extreme), Khalid Al-Balooshi (Pro Nitrous), Spiro Pappas (Extreme 10.5), Scott Gray (Pro Extreme Motorcycle) and Matt Hartford (Extreme Pro Stock). Only Tutterow and Pappas have a chance for repeat titles in 2010.The 2009 World Finals winners were Alex Hossler (PX), Al-Balooshi (PN), Chuck Ulsch (Extreme 10.5), Gray (PXM) and Cary Goforth (XPS).The gates open at 9 a.m. Friday, with the final round of qualifying for Dragstock VII set to begin at 11 a.m. On Saturday, the final qualifying session for the World Finals will take place at 9 a.m. The first round of eliminations starts at 3 p.m., with a special jet-car and monster truck pass, a fireworks display and a MAVTV Winner’s Circle party concluding the evening on Friday and Saturday.WHAT: LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VI and the Speedtech “Battle For The Belts,” the 10th of 10 national events this calendar year for the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) The “Battle For The Belts” takes place on Friday, while Saturday’s World Finals is the 1st points-paying event toward the 2011 championship-deciding Speedtech Battle for the Belts.
