Bob’s Performance Fab shop has become a well-known source A, B & E body Mopar coil-over kits and Chromoly Tubular K-frames for some of the wildest quarter mile rides. Keeping with Bob’s life-long passion, it’s only fitting that his personal toy of choice is one of the meanest Dodge Demon’s patrolling the streets of Ohio. While this car has had a few different drivetrains wedged in between the fenderwells, Bob had a hard time choosing between an ex-pro stock 500ci HEMI or the NASCAR-based R5P7 358ci small block. Given that Bob still wanted to enjoy this Demon on the streets, he made the logical choice to go with the latter. Bob tells us that he will put the ‘99 HEMI to good use sooner or later, but probably in a lighter chassis.

The R5 is a stout package right out of the gate from Mopar, but Bob is making a few little adjustments to it in hopes of squeaking out a bit more power. A few of the noteworthy changes are the powder coated intake, Pro-Billet front mount
MSD distributor,
CSR electric water pump and a set of custom longtube headers with a polished ceramic finish from
QC Coatings. With a stout power-plant comes the need for a stout transmission - Bob will be building up a Torqueflite 904 and has developed his very own A-body R5P7 adapter plates for the install to go smoothly. The rearend is where the Mopar ties end however, as a
Strange 9-inch Ford rearend is sourced for this ride.
Bob hasn't quite decided where the car will be run regularly, but has built it loosely enough that it'll be legal for multiple local classes. If or when he gets the idea for an even wilder power-plant, the 25.3 chassis will allow him to shave some E/T and be safe and legal in the process. Will his newest creation allow Bob to keep up with some of the gnarliest N/A cars hitting the 1/4-mile as of late?
