income taxes

tax time is coming up soon.

i need to find a new place to have my income tax done. any recommendations? someone good and no cheap tax places. thanks

I'll PM you the person I go to...her and her husband work out of their home. Not sure if she's taking new clients though, but worth a call or e-mail.

After she did my taxes the first year I went to her, she also looked at my previous year where I actually had to pay $200 back (first and only time). She got me $1500 back from that year. So that is what keeps me going to her.

dude i swear by turbo tax....i used to pay over $300 for my tax guy and he couldn't get me shit.

been using turbo tax for the 4th year...i get about $6500-$8500 every year using it.

they will prompt you to "check" some figures if they seem too low or too high.

such as charitable contributions...it will say " the avg person in your tax bracket gave $XXXX.XX in charitable contributions...you put $XXX.XX are sure that is correct"

it will give you suggestions to find more deductions, and dig for anything at all you can claim.

mostly w/ simple yes and no answers.

i can bang my taxes out in 2 hours w/ it....even w/ mutiple state income, real estate transfers etc.

even if you bought it and did your last years taxes to compare what your accountant got.....then compare. if it's more do it...if not , you only wasted $50

that also includes a free electronic filing , and automatically prints your state return from the data on your fed.

According to my accountant:

"If they have a business, or complex return probably not. But it depends. You can have them call me if they want, I'm booked through Feb. though."
