is this maf hurting me?
ok my recent track times were utterly dissapointing.
this car is running 7 tenths slower than my '89 and setup the same way. now here's the deal..... it has a supercoupe mass air meter on it, i ran the numbers and it is for sure. also smells superphat. i blamed the lt's and no cats, but harsher than i remember in my old car. fuel pressure is 32 psi at idle, vac on. so i'm wondering if this maf is causing a super rich condition that is robbing power????? |
That very well may be... another thing too that will cause that is a bad coolant temp sensor. The ecm will think the car is running hotter/colder and try to compensate.
You'll need access to a real time scanner to read the sensor values to see if its off. If you can borrow a MAF somewhere that might be worth a try. |
yeah i'm thinking i can just pick one up really cheap.
they have virtually no value anyways. good call on the sensor, i'll keep it mind as well. |
Bob, Are you still running 19lb. injectors? '89-'92 SC's Have a 55mm MAF and 30lb. injectors '93-'95 SC's Have a 70mm MAF and 36lb. injectors You will either have to recalibrate the MAF to work with your injectors or go with larger injectors (IMHO would be too large for a stock 5.0). |
hey whatup steve-o
yeah still the 19's i scored a stocker maf and seems much better now. |
