Interesting timing on new job

My wife got let go from her last job right before she was about to go back after having our first baby. Downsized. No problem....she hated the job, we didn't NEED the money, and it was nice to have her home. It was 1 hour drive each way.

So unemployment for 6 months. That ran out Jan. 1st. No problem, tighten the belt (read: no more Cobra mods). Well, as you may or may not know she's pregnant again and due next month. So, my wife went on an interview with the county about 2 months ago for a part time job. Good pay, 2 minutes from home basically. She was 7 months pregnant and even stated that just in case they couldn't tell. They tell her they will decide in 2 weeks.

So like 8 weeks later they call. They say they would like to hire her. Even though she is due in 4 weeks and we are going on my work trip to Hawaii in 7 weeks. Weird timing. They are just going to check references. When they call back they will discuss her hire date.

SWEET. Smaller pulley and more power here I come. lol.

Congrats! :bna: When is her due date?

April 26....another c-section. Maybe a little sooner though as she is already having braxton hics (sp??)....anyway, false labor pains.

Then Hawaii from May 8-14. A little too close, but we both decided a free trip to Hawaii with my company is something we just can't pass on (assuming everything is 100% with my wife and baby).

That is good timing, + they're willing to work with her, baby & trip. Great news.

Yup, nothing like adding to the money fund....

Grandparents will help with some of the babysitting...otherwise we will have to do daycare here at my work on occasion. Not cheap, but it will only be as needed.

As my wife said, "some adult time away from the kids will be nice". Apparently I don't qualify as an "adult". lmao.
