Have a 79 foxbody / used stock k member / used stock trans crossmember with 350 turbo / used clipster style g -body headers / northern aluminum radiator /converted chevy driveshaft to 8.8 flange / did plate it with solid aluminum spaces in the trans mount -go give solid chevy trans mount too. This would be the budget version ,but it is fun runs 11.22 et @ 122 mph with 1.47 60 foot and totally streetable with 383 chevy stroker and manual valvebody turbo 350 no power adders all dominator carb. good luck and go for it!

The hood scoop purpose was for the 8" k&n air cleaner and this hood scoop allowed room for the dual quads (duel 750 edelbrocks with back jets drilled out) / you know these street cars can't get enough air , I looked into the fiberglass 2 1/2" cowl would had fit a standard air cleaner .The times that I posted is at lapeer ,this sbc car did awsome there , the bbc mustang had traction problems ,but it was a bolt in 9 " with aftermarket bars ,bags , roll control , 90/10 front struts, coil over kit ,aje k member, -- this one ran 9.81 et @ 141 mph with a 1.42 60 foot at lapeer .This car had a facelift later 87 nose and grey primer raced at lapeer and went to PINKS ALL OUT at us131 2009 / was tons of fun in the F class racing there .Thanks for the interest

more info on the car? i cant seam to find anything on the g body headers you used...

565bbccarbed 03-26-2010 08:16 PM

This is the link to the headers that I used (with a stock k member , but cut the flat webbing out on the back side of the original k member ) the first time -- http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Garage...ain,42966.html .Then the second time I messed with the sbc stroker in the mustang I had a set of 72 GMC truck headers (headman) that I changed 3 tubes on the drivers side and lightly dinged the outer tubes on the passenger side to a AJE k member .I hope this helps

thanks i have a friend who is running a sbc in his hatch and the headers are a joke...

The clipster ones have a 3" outlet collector / and the other truck ones I used had that too .The one picture is the :cool:565 bbc in the same car as the small block chevy (4 pictures to show details that are important ) with the 72 gmc fullsize chevy truck headers with mods done to them , but it does show some other things like alternator / motorplate / clearances /and others too . Good luck
